## Direct-match strengths

Technology strategy, cloud-native architecture, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, AI adoption, modernization, global-team leadership, and executive communication.

## Hard or material gaps

Two hard conflicts: direct wealth-management/brokerage/investment-platform experience is required but unsupported, and one to two weeks of monthly travel materially exceeds Keith's 5% maximum.

## Evidence map

1. Technology strategy through production — 3/3: Repeated platform strategy, architecture, and production delivery.
2. Cloud-native architecture and modernization — 3/3: Direct AWS, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, integrations, and legacy modernization.
3. Practical AI adoption — 3/3: Production GenAI/ML and enterprise advisory evidence.
4. Distributed engineering leadership — 3/3: Direct globally distributed teams and AWS communities.
5. Wealth-management platform domain — 0/3: Mandatory brokerage/investment/wealth platform ownership is unsupported.
6. Travel — 0/3: One to two weeks monthly is incompatible with the 5% cap.

## Full normalized job description

A large, diversified financial-services organization is seeking a senior technology executive to lead the strategy, architecture, engineering, and delivery of a major Wealth Management platform transformation.
This leader will connect business strategy and product vision with executable technology roadmaps and measurable production outcomes. The position requires someone who can operate beyond high-level strategy by remaining technically credible, strengthening engineering accountability, accelerating practical AI adoption, and ensuring complex platform initiatives progress successfully from architecture through delivery.
The ideal candidate combines the urgency and ownership of a high-growth technology organization with the relationship-building skills and operating maturity required inside a large, regulated financial institution.
Responsibilities:
Own technology strategy and engineering delivery for a strategic Wealth Management platform
Translate business and product priorities into executable architecture and engineering roadmaps
Lead delivery of modern, scalable Wealth Management, brokerage, investment, and client-servicing capabilities
Guide architecture across cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, integrations, data movement, and legacy modernization
Establish engineering standards, technical accountability, and measurable delivery expectations
Ensure platforms are modular, scalable, resilient, secure, and positioned for future growth
Lead globally distributed engineering and platform resources
Coordinate delivery across business units, product teams, architecture, infrastructure, security, data, and shared technology organizations
Evaluate organizational design, staffing, skill gaps, and delivery capacity
Determine which capabilities should be built internally, purchased, or delivered through strategic partners
Manage major systems integrators and hold partners accountable for quality and outcomes
Drive practical AI adoption across engineering, development, testing, operations, automation, and digital experiences
Resolve fragmented ownership and cross-organizational delivery dependencies
Provide executive visibility into progress, technology risk, investment needs, staffing, and architecture decisions
Build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining urgency and delivery momentum
Role Requirements:
Significant executive experience leading engineering, technology, platform, or digital organizations
Demonstrated ownership of complex platform builds or large-scale modernization programs
Proven ability to take technology strategy from concept through implementation and production
Strong understanding of modern software engineering and cloud-native platform architecture
Experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise integrations
Experience integrating modern platforms with legacy enterprise systems
Practical experience implementing AI within engineering, technology operations, or digital-product environments
Experience within Wealth Management, brokerage, retirement, investment management, asset management, or a closely related financial-services domain
Experience leading global or highly distributed engineering organizations
Strong track record operating within complex, matrixed, regulated enterprises
Experience managing major technology partners or systems integrators
Strong organizational-design, talent, and delivery-capacity judgment
Executive-level communication, influence, and relationship-building skills
Ability to drive transformation quickly while maintaining stakeholder trust
Willingness to spend approximately 1–2 weeks per month in Des Moines, Iowa
Nice to Have:
Greenfield financial-platform development
Brokerage, client-servicing, or direct-to-consumer investment-platform experience
AWS or comparable hyperscale cloud experience
Event-driven architecture and real-time processing
DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code transformation
Experience reorganizing technology delivery around clearer platform accountability
Leadership across U.S. and India engineering teams
Experience managing large consulting or systems-integration partners
Experience establishing outcome-based vendor delivery models
