MongoDB is seeking a Head of AI Platform, GM to lead the development and scaling of a new AI Applications Platform. The role can be based in San Francisco, New York City, or remotely in the United States. The GM owns the business, vision, and execution of the platform, with direct responsibility over the R&D organization including Engineering, Product, and Design.

This is an intrapreneurial executive role acting as CEO of the product line. The leader owns end-to-end success of the platform, defines the technical architecture, builds a world-class team of engineers and product thinkers, and scales the platform to support thousands of customers building production-grade AI applications. The leader must be able to discuss multi-agent orchestration and Model Context Protocol in detail and present a three-year commercial growth strategy to the board.

Responsibilities include product vision and execution from zero to scale, roadmap ownership, delivery of the AI Platform, business ownership and P&L management, R&D budget and infrastructure/inference cost ownership, headcount planning, distributed R&D organization leadership, management of Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Product Management, and Product Design, AI strategy, documentation and evangelism of technical strategy, go-to-market partnership with Partnerships, Sales, and Marketing, and customer evangelism as the technical face of the product.

Requirements include an entrepreneurial track record as a founder, early-stage employee, or zero-to-one leader inside a larger technology company; experience building and launching software products from scratch; deep technical understanding of AI frameworks, foundation models, embeddings, vector databases, cloud and SaaS platforms, enterprise infrastructure software, developer platforms, APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure tools; 10+ years of experience building scalable products; proven experience managing managers and leading cross-functional organizations of 100+ people; product-led mindset; and executive communication ability across customers and executives.

MongoDB's base salary range for this role in the United States is $224,000 to $440,000 USD.
