ISO New England Inc. (ISO-NE) is soliciting resumes for an AI Program Governance Consultant to support the Information Technology Department. The selected consultant will be needed as soon as possible and is expected to provide services through September 2027, with the possibility of extension. This position will follow a hybrid work model.

## Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the central coordination point for AI intake, assessment, approval, lifecycle management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Guide requestors through proposal submission and questionnaire completion.
- Coordinate reviews across Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders and prepare materials for Gen AI Council decision-making.
- Track ongoing progress on GenAI efforts and keep the Gen AI catalog up to date.
- Develop, maintain, and socialize AI governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Actively participate in AI Champions program activities, including outreach, documentation, and training activities across the organization, including business teams.
- Partner with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are deployed responsibly and in alignment with organizational strategy and risk tolerance.
- Develop and maintain AI documentation defining AI usage policies, current approved AI technologies, and AI training resources.
- Partner with AI platform and tool administrators to implement guardrails enforcing organizational standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on AI usage, adoption, and cost metrics.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance AI governance processes, workflows, and controls to improve efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder experience.

## Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, capabilities, risks, and common enterprise use cases.
- Experience applying continuous improvement principles to develop, document, and optimize processes across cross-functional teams and organizational boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams through collaboration and consensus-building without formal authority.
- Familiarity with AI control and governance frameworks.
- Experience with data governance practices, including data ownership, data classification, and data quality.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting enterprise AI governance programs, AI intake workflows, or governance council operations.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles, AI risk management practices, and emerging AI regulatory expectations.
- Experience developing governance documentation, training materials, dashboards, or leadership reporting.
- Ability to translate technical, legal, risk, and business requirements into practical governance processes and controls.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders such as Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement, Finance, and business teams.
- Knowledge of AI vendor review, third-party risk management, or technology procurement processes.

## Fit Gate Notes

- Outcome: PASS
- Fit score: 87.5% weighted coverage
- Positioning track: Technical IC / governance advisor
- Central mandate: Coordinate enterprise AI governance intake, review, decision support, lifecycle tracking, documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement across business, data, legal, cybersecurity, architecture, procurement, and finance stakeholders.
- Strongest matches: MassMutual Data Privacy and AI Governance initiatives; Intelligent DataWorks production GenAI platform; AWS enterprise AI enablement; TriMark reporting/process improvement.
- Caveats: Contract role rather than permanent leadership role; Holyoke hybrid 2-3 days/week requires logistics discussion; vendor-review/procurement experience is adjacent rather than deeply evidenced.

## Evidence Map

- AI governance intake, lifecycle, and controls — direct evidence from leading engineering across five MassMutual Data Privacy and AI Governance initiatives, including governance services, enterprise metadata, adaptive policy, governance APIs, and AI Governance & Ethics architecture.
- Responsible AI and model-risk practices — direct evidence from advising MassMutual's AI Governance & Ethics organization on model transparency, bias detection, drift monitoring, MLOps, and SageMaker-based governance approaches.
- Cross-functional requirements and consensus — direct evidence from partnering with product, enterprise architecture, site reliability, privacy, business, and executive stakeholders at MassMutual, TriMark, AWS, and Intelligent DataWorks.
- GenAI concepts, use cases, risks, and guardrails — direct recent evidence from architecting AssistX, a production GenAI platform with 70+ automations across more than 20 workflows.
- Documentation, training, and organizational enablement — direct evidence from creating 170+ AWS technical assets, training 180+ solution architects, and delivering 36+ formal AI, ML, and analytics presentations.
- Dashboards, reporting, and continuous improvement — direct evidence from TriMark's governed cloud-data program, which reduced cross-ERP reporting from roughly two months to one day.
- Data governance — direct evidence from MassMutual governance services, enterprise metadata, adaptive policy, and privacy-rights work, plus TriMark data-lake governance foundations.
- Vendor review, third-party risk, and procurement — adjacent evidence only; no deep direct ownership claimed.
